The centre for Ability Rehabilitation and Empowerment in Nigeria (CARE) was founded in 2014 by Dr. Chike Okogwu, a spinal cord victor from a freak car cash that occurred on December 15 2006 that left him paraplegic from waist down.
That key aim of CARE is to highlight values out of disability, these values are products of CORE (Courage, Opportunities, Responsibilities and Empowerment, which are the basics required for achieving excellence in any person with disabilities.
CARE is at the forefront of the disability advocacy in Nigeria, with her opportunity, rehabilitation and empowerment programs.
We collaborate, with the Innovative Ideals Development Ltd (a sister organization) to produce results where integrity and quality are our watch word.

The visionary
Chike Okogwu is a first class Media, Leadership, Entertainment, Events and Disruptive Innovation Mentor, Consultant and Activist.
Through hard work, tenacity and streetwise intelligence, He rose from very humble backgrounds to become the former (Nigerian Coordinator (Abuja) of the CNN/Multichoice African Journalists of the Year Awards alongside providing both editorial and commercial contents (Documentaries and reports) for CNN (Inside Africa, Market Place Africa, African African Voices), BBC, BenTv UK, Al Jazeera and DSTV Networks.
A Champion of Change and 3 time Alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Leadership in the 21st Century; Chaos, Conflicts and Courage (2010) and Expanding Impact (2011) and Leadership, Organizing and Action (2012) Programs. He holds an MA in Leading Innovation and Change from The York St, John University, Yorkshire UK and Doctorate in Business Administration from The Academy of Business Management (Now Open University Switzerland (OUS), Zurich, Switzerland alongside other Honorary Doctorate Degrees and Certificates for his respective works on Disruptive Innovation, Leadership and Disabilities.
He works on Media, Leadership Trainings and Inspirational Speaking around the world with emphasis on producing change agents in Africa and developing countries with his faculty members drawn from Harvard Centre For Public Leadership, Harvard L21 Alumni Group, The Innovative Ideas Development Services Ltd and a host of other partners.
Notedly in 1998, Chike set up the successful Innovative Ideas Development Services Ltd., a perception, business and business finance management firm with emphasis on media buying and content production which has birthed award winning TV programs locally and internationally and in 2014 founded The Centre For Ability Rehabilitation and Empowerment (C.A.R.E), a 2021 VOICE In Nigeria Grantee with the Accessible Aviation Project to tackle Discrimination And Difficulties faced by Persons With Disabilities In the Nigerian Aviation industry.
Since becoming paraplegic from a freak car crash in December 2006, he has devoted with a great analytical mind too, to providing consultancy, advisory and activist services in the media leadership, entertainment, events and disruptive innovation sectors through working closely with The Federal and State Governments in Nigeria, Persons With Disabilities around the world, Private and Public Organizations and a host of other International Organizations around the globe.
In 2012, he was appointed a member of the defunct FGN Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program (SURE-P) overseeing as Convener, subcommittees on Culture and Tourism, Information, and Railways respectively with a collective budget administration of over $500million.
Chike is currently the Chief Responsibility Officer at CARE and oversees the VOICE In Nigeria/OXFAM Grant that supports The Accessible Aviation Project, a project that eliminates discrimination against persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups in the Nigerian Aviation Industry.
